Velvet Dress + Ladies' Banquet

Hey y'all and welcome back! I'm so excited to share this outfit with you because it is super affordable and comfortable but still cute! You can wear this dress to something causal such as a date night or you can dress it up for a holiday party. Tonight I went to my church's ladies' banquet so I did a dressy, casual look. I paired it with one of my favorite cardigans and booties. Then I threw on some statement earrings and walked out the door.

For the banquet, everyone brought a soup or a cake and then there was singing, games and a speaker. It was so good to take time to see to everyone that I haven't seen in awhile because of my busy schedule. Also, the decorations were absolutely beautiful, I'm sad that I did not get any pictures of them, but I did snap a picture of the hot cocoa bar that they at there just in case y'all might want to use the idea for your own holiday party. It was literally the cutest thing and the hot chocolate tasted so good!

Thanks for reading and hope y'all enjoy some of the pictures from tonight. Also, what have you been up to for the holidays? Have you been to any banquets or parties? Let me know in the comments!!

With Love,
Madison

Fun Leather Pants & Back to College?

Shirt: Target // Leggings: Target // Shoes: Converse

Hey everyone! It's finally Friday! So I'm completely obsessed with this outfit. The leggings and the shirt are from Target. The leggings that I'm wearing are almost like a combination of pants and leggings which makes them so comfortable and stretchy. Also this is the perfect striped tee to have in your closet. It goes with anything and its light and soft so you can wear it in the summer or layer it for fall.

So I've decided sometimes whenever I do my fashion posts I think I want to give you little updates on my life to make it feel more personal. I just think it is always neat to see a glimpse of what is going on in bloggers' lives because it makes you feel more connected to them personally. So my little update for you today, is I've decided to go back to college in the spring (January) and I will hopefully be attending Georgia Southern University (I just submitted my application on Wednesday and I'm waiting to hear back.) I cannot wait to share this journey with y'all and hopefully soon I will be accepted and able to share that with y'all.

Halloween Room Tour

Bat Throw Pillow  // Pumpkin Throw Blanket // Boy Raven // Girl Raven // Black Pumpkin // Poison Bottle // Trick or Treat Sign // Pumpkin Pail

Hey everyone and welcome back! Today is my very first "home" post. I decided that I wanted to share how I decorated for Halloween. I did not do much for it but I figured I would show you the little bit I did. I even decorated Ollie's pen for Halloween (disclaimer: He does not stay in the pen. He is a free roam around my room. We have this pen for his hay and for him to go in and out as he pleases.) I got hay in the pumpkin pail idea from 101 Rabbits and Ollie loves it. I got all of my decorations from Target since I am on a budget right now.

I hope you enjoyed this different type of post. Right now I am in the process of redoing my room and I cannot wait to do another post on once it is finished.

I hope y'all are having a great week and come back for my next post (It will be a fashion one!)

Why I Changed My Blog Name & A Daily Update

Cardigan: Target // Shirt: Shein // Shorts: Belk // Booties: Target // Purse: Crown & Ivy

Hey everyone! Welcome back! Today's post is a little different than usual. I'm just doing an update on what I did today, but mainly telling you why I changed my blog name.

So I absolutely loved today because I got to spend it with my family. Well most of the day anyways. I slept in until 12 (oops) I work the night shift at my job so when I get home I crash and sleep wayyy too late. But I got up and I went to Olive Garden (my favorite place to eat!) with my parents for lunch. Then my mom and I decided to head out to the stores. We went to Target, Old Navy, and Belk. We bought lots of items that I cannot wait to show on the blog!! I know you're going to love them. Once I got home I just cleaned up my room and decorated it for Halloween (watch out for that post!).

Okay, so now to the real reason I'm writing this post. If you've been following me since I first started my blog you know my blog's name was Never Overdressed. I did this because of one of my favorite quotes which is "You can never be overdressed or overeducated." by Oscar Wilde. But I never was set on the idea of that being my blog name because I just felt like it was not very personal. Also as I went along I felt as though I want to keep my main topic on my blog as fashion, I might want to branch out to other topics too and having Never Overdressed as my blog name did not really allow people to see that there might be other topics besides fashion. And so that's where the ball started rolling for me to change the name.

Now, my blog's name is Madison's Cup of Tea. Let me explain where I got this from. It's partially from the saying "cup of tea" because everything I write about on here is something I love and have a passion about. But it's also because I just really love a good cup of tea. You'll always find me ordering sweet tea from a restaurant or holding a cup of hot tea while typing up a blog post.

So yeah, that's why I changed my blog name and now I hope next time you'll drink a cup of tea while reading my next post.
